Our History

In 1972, in Fort Worth, Texas, Kerin Capper Morgan began Capper Swim School in her backyard. She was soon joined by her sisters Dayna, Susan, and Alaine. For fifteen years they taught lessons in their backyard. In 1998 Kerin launched the Morgan Swim School in Richmond, Virginia after developing a proven and guaranteed method of instruction. In 2004, Fort Worth Family Swim School was birthed after four of the “next generation of Cappers” were trained in the Morgan Method.

The vision of FWFSS is not only to equip children with the skills necessary for being a competent and confident swimmer, but also to help them develop character in how they approach all aspects of life.

Register Online

FWFSS is now offering online registration and payment on a first come, first served basis. You may select available dates and your preferred time of day, pay online using PayPal and we'll confirm you lesson registion electronically, via e-mail.

Our Goal

The goal of Family Swim School is to help people meet their goals. We do this by:

Educating parents as to a child's physical and developmental abilities
Suggesting that parents encourage their children with positive words and goal incentives
Focusing, as part of the results of learning to swim, on character development in qualities such as courage, diligence, perseverance and patience
Realizing that the process is just as important as the product

Our Guarantee

At FWFSS we are so confident in the quality and content of our program that we offer two guarantees.

Skills Guarantee

Any child under 8 who takes 8 days of private FWFSS instruction will be able to swim at an age appropriate level, or FWFSS will offer continued instruction free of charge until they do. All students who are over 8 are guaranteed under our "Comfort Guarantee"

Comfort Guarantee

This guarantee is limited to students over 5 years old who are beginners or extremely anxious swimmers. Any beginner over 5 years old taking 8 private FWFSS lessons will be able to float, as well as propel themselves in the water with comfort and confidence.
